最後，台大傳授陳泰然說「誰敢一開始就把颱風的雨量估到兩千，拿科學來由說服我！」其實今後見之明來看，其實就是說若一個人能事前科學地預估颱風的雨量到兩千，必定是能考慮到颱風撞上中心山脈後會慢慢走，又引進很多西南氣流等等。那若他有這本領，必然是有科學的理由展望事情會如許産生翻譯而事前，沒有人能有科學的來由猜測工作會這樣産生，那就不要怪氣象局了翻譯

他有說這是超級颱風嗎？他有說這不是中度颱風嗎？以下是天成翻譯公司聽打他申明的內容：
其次，Corriveau猜測的雨量是1000mm，比現實的也少了一半，這與聯合報8/11〈學者：誰敢一最先 雨量就估兩千〉中報道的：「氣象局在一最先就把雨量展望到八百、一千毫米，在陳泰然眼中，『已經算是很敢報了』」。是一樣的。
